I almost fell for a fake email scam one morning when I saw a message claiming my account would be suspended unless I “confirmed” my identity and asked for personal info. But then I noticed the greeting just said “Dear Customer,” which my real bank never uses, and the sender’s address was a jumble of random letters that didn’t look trustworthy at all. When I hovered over the button they wanted me to click, the link led to a strange URL I didn’t recognize, and that’s when I realized it was a scam. Instead of clicking, I deleted it, reported it, and checked my actual account which, of course, was completely fine.
